Aside from my well-documented interest in the English language, I have a longstanding interest in foreign languages. I have studied Spanish, French, Farsi (Persian) and, long ago, a little Russian, although I speak none of those with any fluency.
Travel remains one of my favorite hobbies, generally long road trips in the U.S. I have been in 48 of 50 states (missing Alaska and Hawaii). Internationally, I'm far less well traveled, with trips to France (Paris), Spain (Madrid and Barcelona areas) and England (London, Bath, Cambridge).
I've also become somewhat of a health nut. In February 2005, I started training for the San Diego Rock 'n Roll marathon as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. Click here to read all about it.
For several years, I took yoga classes. In Miami, I volunteered at Yoga Grove in exchange for free classes. I continue to practice yoga at home. When the opportunities arise, I also hike, swim and stroll down beaches.
